The fire and police departments of Middleton, Wis., recently put their resources together and used an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to locate a convenience-store robber on the loose.

After the 21-year-old man robbed the store and then stole a car on May 31, he was followed by police until he crashed the vehicle and then escaped on foot near a pond, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

The Middleton Fire Department then lent the police a UAV, and the man was spotted in the water through the aerial perspective of the aircraft. According to Ars Technica, the UAV was a DJI Phantom.
