Cornell University’s Cornell Cooperative Extension New York City (CUCE-NYC) is hosting a Drone Discovery day in Brooklyn, N.Y., this Friday.
According to the Cornell Chronicle, 300-400 children in New York City will come to the event to “design and fly foam planes, code virtual flight patterns, and explore the practical uses of drones and other unmanned aircraft.”
The event is marking 4-H National Youth Science Day, for which Cornell is a university partner, selected by the National 4-H Council.
According to the university, Drone Discovery, created by Cornell in collaboration with the National 4-H Council, will host 100,000 youth across the U.S. this month. The Cornell Chronicle says the program “teaches youth to use the engineering design process to understand unmanned flight and its applications.”
