New Jersey College Offers Course in Unmanned Aerial Systems

New Jersey-based Atlantic Cape Community College will offer an introduction to unmanned aerial systems (UAS) this spring through its Aviation Studies program.

The college says the course, Special Topics in Aviation Studies, is designed to introduce students to UAS. Some topics include system elements, regulations, operations, practical uses of UAS, safety, the history and future of UAS, sensors and payloads, and human factors.

Beginning Jan. 21, the class will meet from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Mays Landing Campus. The instructors are Adam Greco, air traffic domain director in the Technical Strategies and Integration Division at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, and Michael Konyak, aeronautical engineer in the Laboratory Services Division at the technical center.
