A man paddleboarding in the waters of Manhattan Beach put his camera-equipped unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to use when he spotted a shark frolicking next to him.

According to a KTLA report, he and his friends were paddleboarding roughly 100 feet off the coast of the Southern California beach when they noticed they had company: a young great white shark.

The man, who is a professional photographer, retrieved his UAV to fly over the creature and record four minutes of impressive video footage after he was struck with a combination of “fear,” “excitement” and “curiosity,” he told KTLA.

The entire KTLA report can be found here.
