The Know Before You Fly campaign, which advocates for the safe and responsible use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has announced four new supporters.
The new partners are as follows: Castle Creations, a manufacturer of electronic speed controls; Hitec, a provider of hobby and industrial radio control systems; Hobby Manufacturers Association, a trade association for manufacturers, importers, publishers, producers and suppliers of model hobby products and accessories; and JR Americas, a distributor of remote control hobby products and accessories.
This brings the total number of partners to 15, including retailers, end users and members of the aviation community. The Know Before You Fly campaign was launched in December by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and the Small UAV Coalition, in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
“We are excited to add more members of the hobby community to our campaign that will help ensure information on the safe and responsible use of unmanned aircraft gets right into the hands of consumers,” comments Dave Mathewson, executive director of AMA.
