Akron, Ohio-based Event 38, a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for industrial use, has partnered with Cegak Teknologi, a supplier of surveying and mapping equipment and software in Malaysia.

Under the agreement, Cegak Teknologi will combine its proprietary software with Event 38’s E384 drone and offer the solution to surveying and construction clients in Malaysia and throughout Southeast Asia.

The E384 drone has a two-hour flight time, carries a 1 kg payload and can cover a distance of 70 km. Combined with an Event 38 custom optical sensor, the E384 can fly 1,000 acres in a single flight and provide orthorectified imagery and elevation models at a 2 cm level for civil engineering, surveying and construction applications.

“Malaysia is a key market for Event 38. This partnership with Cegak Teknologi will provide construction and engineering companies with access to more up to-date and accurate information than ever before,” says Jeff Taylor, CEO of Event 38.
