Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) recently got in on the action at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Philadelphia start-up DroneCast was hired by Ford Motor Co. to fly UAVs, carrying miniature models of Ford's new pickup truck, through the show area to selected people, according to a report from CBS Detroit.

The aircraft took off from a special launching section and landed where they had been pre-selected to go. The report says DroneCast founder GauravJit Singh called this “a great opportunity for the company.”
