Food Delivery by Drone: Something New This Time

The food-delivery-by-drone trend is continuing: A restaurant in Connecticut has delivered a platter of chicken wings to a customer.

According to a report, the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery operated an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) toting two pounds of chicken wings to AudioworksCT, which was a third of a mile away from the Milford restaurant.

The Silent Partner Marketing, which teamed up with Tilted Kilt for promoting the delivery, says the restaurant wanted to do something different in terms of food delivery by UAV, and wings won the prize.

Because the operation was filmed on private land and because the delivery was free, the restaurant is not concerned with legal issues and says it was done purely for marketing, the article notes.

The full report can be found here.

A pizza place in India originally reported in May that it had delivered pizza to a customer; the operation turned out to be a hoax. The next month, a restaurant in Russia said it had accomplished the feat.
