Mapping Resource Group Inc. (MRG GEO), a mapping and geospatial services firm based in Flagler Beach, Fla., says the Federal Aviation Administration has approved its Section 333 exemption for operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) commercially.

Since 2001, the company has offered geospatial services and solutions to both government and private-sector clients throughout the Americas and Caribbean.

Now, MRG GEO says its new UAV mapping offering reflects the ever-changing world of geospatial data requirements.

“We are excited to be able to offer UAV mapping platforms to our existing and prospective clients,” comments Marvin Miller, the firm’s executive director. “This new capability opens the door to added service options in a wide range of applications, including construction monitoring, agriculture, utilities, transportation and emergency response.”

Besides Florida, the firm has locations in Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Virginia.
