Event 38, a drone solutions provider based in Akron, Ohio, has opened up pre-orders for its E384-LR long-range mapping drone.

The E384-LR is a special configuration of the E384 mapping drone. Incorporating a lightweight and high-resolution Sony QX-1 camera, the E384-LR can achieve a flight time of 110 minutes and cover as many as 2,100 acres (3.3 square miles) at a resolution of 5 cm/pixel in a single flight, according to the company.

Event 38 expects the drone to begin shipping on Dec. 5. The aircraft starts at $4,298 and comes with a complete mapping system, including sensors and flight software.

“Our customers depend on the E384 to produce aerial imagery of large areas from farms in Iowa to the most remote and inhospitable corners of six continents,” comments Jeff Taylor, CEO of the company. “By flying even longer, the E384-LR lets our customers spend less time swapping batteries and more time collecting data.”

Event 38 designs and manufactures drones, specialized optical sensors, and a precision analytics data platform for small and midsize businesses. The company has customers in 49 countries for applications including agriculture, surveying, construction and environmental preservation.
