DJI has launched an update to its DJI GO app to give users the ability to broadcast live video from their aerial platforms directly to Facebook.
DJI says the first-ever Facebook Live video from a drone was streamed during Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference in San Francisco in April during Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s remarks.
“With the updated DJI GO app featuring Facebook Live, users can share their experiences as they are happening,” comments Michael Perry, DJI’s director of strategic partnerships. “Suddenly, your community, friends and followers can connect with a completely new perspective.”
The updated DJI GO app is now available at the App Store and will be available on Android soon.
In conjunction with the launch, DJI is holding a contest to highlight the creative possibilities of Facebook Live. The company will select a favorite live stream in the next two weeks through entries submitted using #DJILiveFB on Twitter. The winner will have his or her broadcast featured on DJI’s Facebook and will win a Phantom 4 drone.
