A drone-captured video is offering a preview of what visitors will see when they ride what will be the world's tallest observation wheel, located in New York City.
The YouTube video, entitled ‘View From the Future New York Wheel,’ shows a bird's-eye view of the city from northeastern Staten Island, the location of the future observation wheel.
According to an article from Gothamist, filmmaker Scott Grella shot the footage but stayed within Federal Aviation Administration altitude requirements and did not fly up to 630 feet, which is how high the structure will be.
The New York Wheel website says the attraction – which will be able to provide a ride for 1,440 people at a time – will be not just the only observation wheel in New York City but also the world’s tallest.
The wheel is expected to open in early 2017. The drone video of what to (almost) expect can be found here.
