A drone recently delivered the ball at a Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) soccer game.

The idea was conceived by Brazilian advertising agency Fischer for client Federacao Paulista de Futebol (Paulista Soccer Federation). It took place at the final game of the Paulista Championship, Brazil’s most important soccer competition, says Fischer.

According to the agency, the delivery was the first of its kind at an official FIFA game. Fischer implemented a customized DJI Spreading Wings platform for the job.

“The aim was to deliver the ball to the field for the kickoff – creating an innovative and entertaining event, as well as contributing to the spectacle of the soccer game,” comments Jairo Soares, chief operating officer and head of media for Fischer.

Footage of the event can be found here, and a video of the preparation can be found here.
