DJI has rolled out a number of new accessories for its Mavic Pro drone, the company’s foldable, compact unmanned aircraft that was first introduced last September.
Two new products are designed to shield the Mavic Pro’s propellers: The propeller guard places a barrier just around the propellers, and the propeller cage mounts on the drone’s arms and completely encircles a set of slightly smaller, quick-release folding propellers.
DJI says the cage, which is ideal for novice operators, brings down the drone’s flight time to 12 minutes. Both the propeller guard and cage are also suited for operations in tight spaces or other locations in which the aircraft may fly in close proximity to other objects.Next, the advanced battery charging hub for the Mavic Pro is a solution for charging up to four intelligent flight batteries in a single session. The batteries will be charged in sequence according to their power levels from high to low. DJI notes that the hub is also compatible with the Phantom 4 series 100 W charger.
A new aircraft sleeve, which has soft interior padding, is a custom-designed case for Mavic Pro owners to minimize the risk of external scratches and other damage to the aircraft, as well as keep it free from dust during storage.
Other accessories include a new remote controller monitor hood, giving operators a better view of what they are shooting under direct sunlight, and ND filters, which can be attached to the camera gimbal to allow more control of the camera’s aperture, exposure time and sensor sensitivity settings.
