A Montana congressional candidate has debuted a campaign advertisement in which he shoots down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a rifle.

Matthew Rosendale is a Republican state senator that is running for the U.S. House of Representatives. The campaign advertisement, which is airing statewide in Montana, depicts a standoff between the legislator and a ‘government drone.’

The segment begins with the first-person perspective of a UAV as the aircraft hovers above Rosendale. The politician proceeds to take out the drone.

Rosendale, with his rifle at ease, then turns to the camera and says ‘Spying on our citizens – that's just wrong.’ He adds that he is ‘ready to stand tall for freedom.’
