Aerial cinematography company CineDrones LLC says it has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for a Section 333 exemption in the motion picture, television and live broadcast industry, as well as a comprehensive Certificate of Waiver or Authorization (COA).

The blanket COA provides CineDrones with pre-approved authorization to shoot drone aerials on television and motion picture sets without having to apply for permission in advance.

CineDrones was approved to fly the DJI S900, DJI S1000 and DJI Inspire 1 and says it is the first in the U.S. approved to fly the Inspire 1 at or below 200 feet above ground level for the purposes of filmmaking.

CineDrones says it has flown for clients such as MTV, ABC, CBS Sports, World Wresting Entertainment, NBC, Volvo, Sunset Music Festival and 5 Hour Energy, among others.
