Hawthorne, Calif.-based Chapman Aerospace LLC says it recently received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorization to operate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
As an FAA-approved drone company, Chapman Aerospace now offers a drone pilot training school at its California base, where FAA-certified pilots will teach students to become FAA-certified drone pilots themselves. The company also carries a line of FAA-approved drones for sale.
‘There is a shortage of qualified UAS/drone pilots in the United States, and licensed pilots are in great demand. In the future, drone pilots will have exciting and lucrative careers since licensed drone pilots come at a premium,’ says Justin Chapman, company president, who has been working with UAS for 18 years.
In addition to the training school, Chapman Aerospace provides drone teams including pilots, camera operators and complete crews for movies and other projects that require aerial filming, photography, surveys, 3D modeling and/or automated services.
‘We offer an array of popular cameras to handle still and movie shoots in order to accommodate burgeoning customer demand for specialized equipment,’ adds Chapman. ‘One of our current projects is shooting the 115th U.S. Open at the Chambers Bay Golf Course.’
