Botlink, a provider of an interactive air traffic control and data processing platform for drones, and uAvionix, a manufacturer of micro automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) transponders and receivers, are teaming up to bring ADS-B technology to drones by early 2016.
uAvionix’s technology will be integrated into Botlink’s extended range and data (XRD) drone-mounted cellular device to add another layer of safety to Botlink’s foundation platform.
The companies say the partnership will provide Botlink’s users with increased situational awareness through the optional ADS-B feature on the XRD.
“Botlink’s interactive air traffic control for drones is a perfect fit for our micro transponders. We are so excited to offer this crucial awareness component for UAV operators,” comments Sean Suiter, president of uAvionix.
Shawn Muehler, chief operating officer of Botlink, adds, “With our situational awareness and regulation compliance software teaming up with the micro size and incredible range of the uAvionix transponder, this partnership is going to bring a level of safety not yet seen in this industry.”
