An anonymous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has reportedly tried to drop off contraband to a jail in Larissa, Greece.

According to a report on ekathimerini.com, the small aircraft was able to avoid the prison's barbed-wire barrier and make a safe landing on the ground, where it was then noticed by a security guard.

Inside were cell phones, SIM cards and headphones – very similar to the contents of the delivery by UAV at a prison in Thailand last month.

The operator has not been found, the report says.

Besides the incident in Thailand, there have been several more reports of the same kind in recent months, from Ireland to North Carolina.
