As more than 1 million drones are expected to be sold this holiday season, Airnest says it will offer its companion app for a promotional holiday rate of $14.99.
With the iPhone and iPad app, which launched last month, users can draw a flight path with their finger, and the drone flies on autopilot while capturing video or camera stills. The Airnest app also allows users to control the camera simply by panning and tilting the iOS device. As the iPad or iPhone moves, the drone will mimic the movements while streaming the live feed back down to the user.
“We’re excited that so many new people will be introduced to drones this holiday. And before they’re expert pilots, our app can help them get that aerial family portrait or epic outdoor shot – safely and easily,” explains Ben Brautigam, co-founder of Airnest.
The app is currently compatible with the DJI Phantom 3 Pro and Advanced models, as well as the DJI Inspire 1.
