Boulder, Colo.-based remote sensing company Agribotix has been selected to be a part of Village Capital's second annual U.S. Agriculture Accelerator Program, VilCap USA: Agriculture 2014.

Agribotix, which makes actionable intelligence for agriculture using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is one of 12 start-ups chosen for the program, which involves early-stage ventures that increase agricultural resource efficiency.

Ultimately, Village Capital explains, the program will stimulate the U.S. economy by finding business solutions to major challenges facing low-wealth Americans.

VilCap USA: Agriculture 2014 consists of three skills-based workshops in Louisville, Ky. Entrepreneurs will assess one another through Village Capital’s peer-review process, as well as receive coaching and mentoring. At the end of the program, the two businesses ranked highest will each receive a cash prize investment from Village Capital and Radicle Capital.
